The Best Odor & Air Control You’ll Find: A Review of the CritterZone Air Naturalizer
(Keeping It Pawsome received a complimentary Air Naturalizer to review.)
CritterZone Air Naturalizer: What Is It
A powerful odor neutralizer and air purifier gizmo (in looks, it’s simply a little white box) that uses special technology to bring outdoor-quality-air inside. It has a range of 800 square feet.
The science behind the CritterZone is complex, partly because the science behind outdoor air is complex.
Thanks to the power of the wind and sun, outside air is “charged.” As a result, the molecules and atoms in the air are continuously mixing. It’s the same as when a carbon molecule meets a couple of oxygen molecules and the end result is CO2 (or carbon dioxide). Except in this, case, the end result is cleaner air as allergens and other “bad” things are converted into cleaner elements.
It’s why the air outside always smells and feels so much fresher than inside. (Excepting places where pollutants are a problem.)
The CritterZone uses technology to mimic this indoors, creating trillions (not exaggerating here!) of negatively- and positively-charged ions that interact with the air, forcing the same combinations that clean the air of allergens, mold, bacteria, and dust. And, as a result, eliminate odors.
CritterZone: How We Used It
When CritterZone first approached us to give one of their Air Naturalizers a try, we were excited but skeptical.
With six cats in our house, odor has been a never-ending and usually losing battle.
To make it even more challenging for CritterZone to prove itself, we put it in a room that has two litter boxes, including the Nature’s Miracle box that all our cats prefer.
We followed the instructions to put the device on low for the first 24 hours. Other than the addition of a metallic smell we didn’t notice any difference.
The next day we cranked it up to high. The metallic smell got stronger and within a few hours we could barely smell the litter boxes.
That metallic smell by the way, is the byproduct of thousands of “bad” particles being neutralized. And it does go away once all the stuff that’s been sitting in the air for days (weeks, months, and even years!) has been cleared out.
We left the CritterZone in the room for two weeks. No smell.
We even skipped cleaning both litter boxes for 48 hours to see what happened. No smell.
Find out the truth about litter boxes.
Because CritterZone is more than just an odor neutralizer, we eventually moved it to our bedroom to use an air purifier. We’re both allergic to dust and have been allergic to cats in the past. Sharing our bed with several of our cats every night often leaves us congested and can make sleep difficult.
Since moving the CritterZone into the room, we’ve never slept better!
Pros
We can’t say enough good things about the tiny CritterZone. (It’s less than 4.5 inches tall and 2 inches wide).
It worked like a charm, clearing up the smell of two litter boxes in a single room.
Even better, once we moved it into our bedroom, we noticed an immediate improvement in air quality. And we’ve both been sleeping better, with less congestion than ever before. (We’re both allergic to dust.)
We’ll be buying several more to spread around the house, both for odor control in the rooms where we have litter boxes and in the rooms where we spend the most time.
Cons
CritterZone is not inexpensive. Depending on how many pets your have or how big your home is, you’ll probably want more than one. You may even want more than two.
